About ME!

Hello, My name is Gary C. Orlando and I am an aviation enthusiast. I currently work in the Travel Industry as a Travel Agent, but have been in the airline/travel business since 1988. I live in a small town in North-Western Illinois called Rock Falls. We once had air service but cuts in EAS funds took that away.

Airlines and airplanes are my forte, with my favorites being the Local Service Airlines of the past and the Commuter/Regional Airlines, before the day of Code Shares.

My favorite aircraft of all time is the Fairchild Hiller FH-227, also to a lesser extent the Fairchild F-27/Fokker F.27.

I have worked for 3 Airlines and the same travel agency since 1989. The first airline was a small commuter called Propheter Aviation flying Cessna 402s. The second was Great Lakes Aviation, and finally for the ill fated AccessAir.

I'm not sure what I'll do in the near future as the travel agency business is a risky thing nowadays.
