The "WhistlePig."
An unofficial picture history of the Fairchild Hiller FH-227.

Hello and welcome to my FH-227 website. I have created this website with the help of many people to show its history in pictures. Although only 78 FH-227s were built, this aircraft has flown to all 7 continents and in several countries the world over.

Sections:
I have many sections, The History and Specs section. The Photo section being the chronological listing by operators of each serial number and by colour scheme from roll out to demise. There is a techincal section with three view drawings, a section for the FH-227 Safety Cards in my personal collection. I also have a Sound section with actual FH-227 sounds taped from inside and out. The most recently added section is the Miscellaneous section. It displays different items in my collection such as advertisements, articles, airline newsletters all pertaining to the FH-227. Of course theres a Links and Feedback section. There is even an About Me section!!

Photos:
As for photos that appear on my site, I try as best I can to contact the original photographer of each image but sometimes its impossible. Therefore I will list them as Unknown from my collection. I kindly ask those that recognise your photo to please contact me so that I might give proper credit. It is not my aim to willingly violate any copyright laws. However there are slides and/or photos in my collection that bare no name.

Dedication:
I would like dedicate this website to my Dad who introduced me to this plane by taking me out to our local airport one cold evening in 1972 to see an Ozark Air Lines FH-227B. I actually ran from the fence in terror from the RRDart sounds!! Eventually I fell in love with it. I also cannot forget my Mom who had to listen to countless years of my loud FH-227 tapes!!! Whom I continue to share my enthusiasm for this project with.

Thank Yous:
Where should I begin? So many contributors who have made this website a possibility. Each and everyone of you help in many, many ways. The Photographers of the many shots. From pilots to airline agents and even passengers or fellow enthusiasts all whom have left feedback with their individual stories and sometimes even pictures!! You have all made this website a real asset for everyone to enjoy. So Much that it even earned an Award in January 2005 at the Miami Airline Collectables and Slide Show for the research into a single aircraft type....
Lastly but not at all least, I would like to Sincerely thank Mr. David A. Faulkner. from Melbourne, Australia - Owner and webmaster of rwy34.com.He has provided me the webspace for this site. It all couldnt take place without any of you!! From the bottom of my heart I say thank you all!!!
